The Grand Council of the Crees

Common Experience Payment (CEP) application forms will be available only as of September 19, 2007

Posted: 2007-08-30

The Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) has learned that an unofficial version of the CEPApplication Form has been distributed to Survivors. This was done without the permission of the Official Court Administrator or the Government of Canada, who are in charge of the Settlement Agreement process.

Some Survivors have already started completing and sending these unapproved applications to Service Canada offices. Even though they might not indicate it, these forms are draft forms and will not be accepted by Service Canada. Please note that any of these unapproved applications received prior to and after September 19, 2007 will be returned to senders. To receive payment, Survivors must use the official form.

All Survivors who have registered at www.residentialschoolsettlement.ca or by calling 1-866-879-4913, will receive the final and approved application in the mail from the Court Administrator on September 19th or soon thereafter. Survivors can register to have the official form mailed to them:

On-line at www.servicecanada.gc.ca and at www.irsr-rqpi.gc.ca; or By calling 1-866-699-1742 (TYY 1-800-926-91058).
