On Thursday May 31, Johnny Mark, LEA accepted the Phenix de l'environnement Prix on behalf of the Cree Nation of Wemindji, from Ms. Line Beauchamp, the Minister of the Sustainable Development and Environment and Parks (MSDEP) Quebec City.

The Prize was for their innovative, Integrated Waste Management Program in the northern climate, that they have been building over the years in response to the waste management in the community of Wemindji, which has translated into success, the benefits of which are being felt by other Cree and Northern Communities in the results that are being achieved there. Many people have worked along with Johnny for years for this moment and all people in Wemindji will benefit for years to come.

Congratulations Wemindji on a Job Well Done!
