CRA External Analysis of Matoush Uranium Mining Project

Posted: 2010-06-14

The Matoush Uranium Exploration project is actually reviewed under the section 22 of the JBNQA. The Provincial and Federal Review Committees have recently finished their Conformity Analysis of the Environmental and Social Impacts Study (all proponent documents are available on the CEAA website: http://www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca/default.asp?lang=En&n=1ED9DF1A-1). In order to support the two members appointed by the CRA on each of these panels, the CRA has decided to require an external analysis. Three reports were delivered a few month ago, but have remained confidential until the publication of the Review Committees Conformity Analysis. The CRA may now publish these three reports which support its analysis of the impact study. These reports may help the Crees to review the project in preparation for the next public hearings that should be held next autumn.
