Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come and Deputy Grand Chief Rodney Mark Meet with Quebec Premier and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs

Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come and Deputy Grand Chief Rodney Mark met with Quebec Premier Pauline Marois and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs Elizabeth Larouche yesterday in Montreal, Qu├ębec.

Abel Bosum, Cree Negotiator states, "The discussions were on the Governance Agreement, extension of Cree Nation jurisdiction through this agreement, boundaries for Cree Nation, implementation issues for the Eeyou Istchee
James Bay Regional Government, BAPE review process agreement on uranium, BallyHusky Impact Benefit Agreement with BlackRock Metals, Mistissini Agreement, Ouje-Bougoumou land transfer. These files were reviewed and which were mostly discussed and resolved in 2013".

They also discussed the CSB capital needs, forestry issues, protected areas, Nord Pour Tous plan, and Charter of Values and issues matters relating to the Federal Government.

The Grand Chief and Deputy Grand Chief were accompanied by Cree Negotiator Abel Bosum and Executive Director Bill Namagoose.
